Male Fertility & Sexual Medicine Specialists started using our services in June 2003. The clinic was known for their general urology services, but wasn’t getting many patients for their preferred cases in male fertility.The goal was to increase male fertility patient volume, using new Internet Marketing channels.
Internet Marketing is very suited for this practice's specialty. Male fertility and sexual medicine related health conditions are very personal and intimate issues and people prefer to do their own research on the Internet before consulting a physician.
The immediate need was a newly designed website and competitive search engine ranking for male fertility treatment on the Internet. The new site www.malefertility.md was launched in November 2003 and site traffic increased over the subsequent 18 month period between 10% to 100% per month. The physician's preferred cases are vasectomy reversal, sperm retrieval techniques, varicocele treatment, and treatment for peyronie’s disease. We made sure that the website is optimized for these keyphrases and content pages about these treatments are the top ten most visited pages on the site each month. In April 2005, the website www.malefertility.md had been ranked No.1 for over 70 relevant keyphrases on the 30 most important search engines. It includes new patient forms, patient education videos and a secure information request form for fast appointment scheduling and patient inquiries.
On the print marketing side, a professional patient information package was created for easy patient registration. A fertility resource book for referring physicians was developed and distributed among his referring peers. A quarterly email/printed newsletter was published to keep referring physicians and patients updated on latest developments in the industry.
As the growing male fertility expert in the San Diego area, Dr. Martin Bastuba had excellent success rates in vasectomy reversals. We suggested to create a separate website just for vasectomy reversals to increase his patient volume. In April 2005, the site www.vasectomyinfo.com was launched. The new website is designed in tableless CSS code (cascading style sheets) adheres to XHTML 1.0 guidelines and incorporates the latest search engine optimization requirements for competitive ranking, including Section 508 compliance. Since Google automatically blocks new sites from search engine ranking for 6 to 8 months, a fine-tuned pay-per-click campaign was started to cover the time until Google would list the site.
In January 2007, pay-per-click efforts for the major search terms has been eliminated, since organic search engine ranks were strong. Even though the market is extremely competitive on Google and the site is relatively new compared to the others, vasectomyinfo.com climbed on #1 rank for "vasectomy reversal" in May 2007. It also has numerous other top 10 listings for other relevant search terms. However, we mainly focused our work on turning the wish of the physician into reality to become No. 1 on Google among vasectomy reversal specialists on the Internet. The search term "vasectomy reversal" is the most important phrase for physicians offering this procedure. As the No. 1 on Google above all competitors, web site traffic has an imense impact on patient numbers at the clinic.
Using our services on a monthly retainer basis for years, the center has a growing percentage of their preferred cases in male fertility with focus on vasectomy reversals. Besides an overall dramatic increase in patient volume, the practice's patient ratio of male fertility cases increased significantly thanks to our efforts at Fertility Marketing. 60% of all current patients report that they have found the practice over the Internet. In January 2007, the management at Male Fertility & Sexual Medicine Specialists decided to change their name to Male Fertility Specialists as a result of the increasing patient numbers in preferred cases.
